St. George’s, Grenada – July 16th, 2026 – Grenada Co-operative Bank Limited continues to invest in the nation’s future through education with the presentation of fourteen (14) scholarships under its Super Starter Education Investment Plan (EIP) initiative.
This year, fourteen students – comprising seven (7) from the primary level, six (6) from secondary, and one tertiary – were awarded scholarships for the upcoming academic year during the presentation ceremony held on June 17th, 2026.
The Super Starter Education Investment Plan is a special education savings product offered exclusively by Co-op Bank as an investment strategy to cover school expenses. “As a financial institution and the only local commercial bank in Grenada, Co-op Bank appreciates the importance of education in the growth and development of our country. We also acknowledge that to get a quality education, one must dig deeper into their pockets to do so as the years have progressed,” explained Ericka Hosten, Manager, Marketing and Customer Insight Unit. It was against this backdrop that Co-op Bank introduced the Super Starter Education Investment Plan (EIP) to help families prepare for educational expenses while creating opportunities for students to pursue their academic aspirations and long-term goals.
The EIP offers three options: Silver, designed for primary school students; Gold, for secondary school students; and Platinum, for tertiary level students. It also offers several attractive features, including Star Points, which rewards outstanding academic performance, and the EIP Scholarship opportunities. Under the scholarship, one student from each parish is randomly selected each year to receive a scholarship in the Silver and Gold categories, while one Platinum category scholarship is awarded every two years. Silver scholarship recipients receive EC $1200 each, those in the Gold category receive $2500 each, and the Platinum scholarship awardee receives $45,000.
Since the launch of the EIP scholarship initiative in 2009, Co-op Bank has awarded 332 scholarships to students across Grenada, Carriacou and Petite Martinique, which has helped parents cover primary and secondary school expenses. Eighteen (18) platinum scholarships have also been awarded to support students pursuing tertiary-level education in any discipline, at any institution around the world.
